Artworks Created for The Allison Inn and Spa
WHen my day job and my passion met

I currently work for the Allison Inn and Spa. Usually I’m busy with my job, but when there’s nothing else to do, I draw.
Over the slow season, when the hotel’s occupancy was low, I amassed a considerable body of work on the backs of old menus, stuffed in the corner of a drawer. Portraits of my coworkers and pieces from my imagination piled up. Eventually, the executive team took notice, and they were impressed.
Before the Allison reopened the Jory Restaurant and The Living Room in January, they contacted me about doing the new art for the menus. Excited for the opportunity to merge my everyday job and my passion for art, I grabbed my stylus and got to work!

Celebrating beauty and individuality

Ink Drawings
the art I make for myself, but love to share
Camellia Café
A blend of portrait and imagination, this is a scene of me and my husband, playing the board game Unmatched outside of a coffee shop, as is our weekly tradition.
While the location is fictional, we moved to Newberg (“The Camellia City”) right after we got married, when he was 19 and I was 20. This town is incredibly special to both of us, and irrevocably connected to both who we are and our relationship.

The Space We Make For Each Other
This piece is about friendship and feeling whole.
Every detail of the busy background represents an aspect of my life that takes space and energy. I have a tendency to overthink, but when I talk with a good friend, the busyness takes the backseat. The empty circle around the two people shows how it feels to be in the space someone is holding for you, where you can just be.
Works in Charcoal
Vine charcoal is My favorite medium by far!
Like some of my sisters, It’s dramatic and makes a terrible mess, but I love it.
